General Music:

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, all K-5 students will sing, perform, and study music from Mexico and South America, including traditional Mexican and Southern American folk songs, music for Encanto and Coco, and songs commissioned for K-5 students.  Instrumental lessons will incorporate hand percussion instruments, boom whackers, and floor drums and draw on previously learned concepts in our "Color Rhythms" unit from September.

Students will learn notes on the D and A strings, incorporate pizzicato (plucking) and arco (bowing) playing techniques, and begin learning repertoire for their fall concert (November 29th).
